Free CISA diagnostic assessment: understand your starting point
The CertArc CISA baseline combines a guided 5-question warmup with a 20-question assessment. All 25 answers contribute to your personal result. Use it to choose an initial study focus, not to predict whether you will pass the official exam.
Answer without looking up the scenario and record confidence honestly. A correct guess and a confident correct answer provide different evidence about what you should review. The warmup introduces the product; it is not discarded from your effort or result.
A short assessment gives only a small sample from each domain. A low percentage may identify a useful starting point, but it cannot establish that you are weak in every topic within that domain. Later unfamiliar practice should confirm or challenge the initial signal.

Original teaching example
You answer one question correctly in a domain with only a few sampled questions and feel ready to stop studying that domain.
That result supports confidence in the sampled reasoning, not the entire domain. Review what was actually tested and use later scenarios to cover the remaining topics before reducing your study time.
Review before choosing your first sprint
Open the answer review, compare the alternatives and record why you missed an item. “Answered as management, not as an auditor” is useful when the role boundary caused your error; do not select it automatically for every mistake.
What the free-access path includes
Eligible learners receive 21 days of access after onboarding, with Sprint 1 in each of the five CISA domains and Set 1 Exam 1. Later sprints, later exams and retakes are outside that allowance. No credit card is required for the free path.
Frequently asked questions
Do the warmup answers count?
Yes. The 5 warmup answers and 20 assessment answers make up the 25-answer personal baseline, including the time spent answering.
Is this the official CISA exam?
No. It is a short CertArc diagnostic with original scenarios, not an ISACA examination or official question bank.
Does a low baseline mean I should cancel my exam?
Not by itself. Use it to identify specific gaps, then consider your remaining study time and broader preparation evidence. A small sample cannot make that decision for you.
Is a second baseline attempt included free?
Retakes are not included in the CISA free-access allowance. Review your existing attempt and use the included foundation practice.
Will a high score guarantee a pass?
No. CertArc practice percentages do not convert to official scaled scores and are not a guarantee of an exam outcome.
